Our client is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer II (CEII) who is forward thinking, prefers to automate, who wants to analyze and optimize application architectures and deployment methodologies.
In this role you will provide engineering expertise to modernize and operate the mission environment for DoD🗽customer(s). You will be responsible for solutions design and delivery, system administration, and operations support. You will work with a team to review requirements, design, and deliver the most optimal and secure cloud-based solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in in Cloud Engineering services and support of Cloud migrations & architecture, Active Directory, Cloud Security, and Cloud Application migrations
- Define requirements for integrations
- Deliver Cloud Solutions across multiple environments to meet business needs
- Provide Cloud user management, security, capacity, monitoring and configuring app development tools
- Perform root cause analysis and improves current infrastructure solutions
- Analyze, design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure and integrated technologies through a lens of security, resiliency, and scalability, within a hybrid IT environment
- Provide operations support for planned and unplanned outages and change requests
- Investigate and tests new cloud technologies to meet or exceed user expectations
- Provide systems metrics, root cause analysis and proactive monitoring
- Document clearly all required procedures and configuration changes to production systems
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years demonstrated Cloud Engineering experience
- Security+ Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of start
- AWS Associate, Professional or Specialty certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of start
- System administration experience:
- Experience with Linux server administration (preferred)
- Experience with Windows Server administration (preferred)
- Experience with Active Directory administration (preferred)
- Experience with container build and deployment required; experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestrators preferred
- Comfortable with at least one configuration management solution (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SSM, etc).
- Strong conceptual knowledge of modern architecture design patterns
- Fundamental awareness of networking concepts (Subnets, Ports and Procols, OSI model, etc.)
- Leadership aspirations or past performance
- Active Security Clearance (Preferred)
This is a contract-to-hire role -- you can convert to a full-time employee or remain a contractor. And, as always, this role is remote! 😎🏖️
