Metal Shading Language (MSL) helps you develop apps that take advantage of the graphics and compute processing power of the GPU. MSL enables you to write a shader program, which is graphics and data-parallel compute code that runs on the GPU. Shader programs run on different programmable units of the GPU. MSL is a single, unified language that allows tighter integration between the graphics and compute programs. MSL is C++-based.
