Talentcrowd’s Role in a Record-Breaking Food Drive
At Talentcrowd, we believe in the power of community, collaboration, and giving back—and when a local elementary school approached us with their holiday food drive for Gleaners Food Bank, we knew we had to jump in. The mission was simple but impactful: collect as many boxes of cereal as possible to support families in need, all while bringing a little friendly competition and a ton of fun to the school.
The school had a creative twist on the traditional food drive. Once all the cereal boxes were collected, they planned to use them in a school-wide game of dominos—lining them up and watching them fall one by one in a wave of generosity—before donating every single box to Gleaners Food Bank. (Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love some cereal-fueled fun?)
Talentcrowd decided to sponsor a specific class, and boy, did they rise to the challenge! With our support, the class collected an incredible 196 boxes of cereal, pushing them to the top of the leaderboard and securing the school-wide win. Their determination earned them a well-deserved pizza party and extra recess time. (Because nothing says "we crushed it" like pizza and play!)
The entire school came together in an inspiring display of generosity, collecting a whopping 1,151 boxes of cereal for Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.
That’s 1,151 opportunities to brighten someone’s day and fill a family’s pantry during the holiday season.
For us, this was about more than just donating cereal—it was about being part of something bigger, showing up for our community, and helping to teach the next generation the value of teamwork, kindness, and giving back.
To the cereal champs we sponsored: we’re so proud of you for your hard work, your big hearts, and your love of competition (and pizza). To the school as a whole: way to come together to make a difference for families in need!
